24 hours in San Diego.

Aubrey and I decide to take a little trip down to San Diego during the President's day weekend. We stayed downtown at the beautiful boutique Hotel Solamar on Sunday night. On our way down we stopped by and filled our belly's with some good ol' brew & bbq at the famous Phil's BBQ. We wondered around the gaslamp district and danced our feet off that evening . The next day, I wanted to explore SouthPark, a quaint area in San Diego with a homemade ice cream shop and other small boutiques. Silly me, didn't take into account the holiday and we arrived to a quiet & empty SouthPark. Most of the shops and restaurants were closed due to the holiday but luckily The Daily Scoop was awaiting our arrival with open doors. They are an all natural ice cream shop, so I happily enjoyed the Pistachio (without the yucky artificial green color) which pleasantly had pieces of pineapple. Because the restaurant we wanted to eat at was closed we relied on trusty yelp to guide us to a delicious lunch. We discovered El Salvadoreno Restaurant not too far from SouthPark and devoured pupusas, tamales, plantains and washed it down with pineapple juice mixed with fresh fruit.

The drive was gorgeous. So fresh after a nights rain.

From his pen ...

Fireworks. In the night sky, lighting up the aura, the physical manifestation of that energy, through light.

Seeing face, after face, after face...

...was that her?

The anticipation warmed his soul into a whirlwind of focused searching.

It was this night, they would meet for the first time, not in the traditional meaning thought.

The festival with the massive thousands, all with their hearts beating in unison. More than a concert, they would all witness a meeting of two spirits who finally will dance together in circular symmetry.

"The Mantra," she says.

"The Mantra?" says Love.

"Yes..

I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
I love you.
Thank you."

"No, not like that, don't say it to me. Say it for yourself . It's more genuine and meaningful if you yourself believes in it."

Even with closed eyes, he can feel her. The vibe, the frequency, in complete sync with each other.

It began with a rebirth of Love, an emergence of a new world, introduced through the purest of emotions, the purest, most high state of being ...

Joy.

Here, Love finds Proof that Joy is revealed if truly and earnestly wished for.

The glass shatters.

Whimsical thoughts then suddenly focus like a lit beam, a connection between Love and Joy. The first.

"What do you think that means?" says Love

Joy replies with absolute confidence and faith.

"It brings attention to this moment."

The Moment. The concept of the moment. At this moment, Love sees for the first time.

Love has never been so drawn to an energy, so driven by feeling.

The universes says to Love, though:

"Not yet."

To be continued . . .

*The story of how we came to be ... the most beautiful valentine's day gift. ♥

my beau's in the band ...

My partner is the bassist in an amazing band, name to-be-determined, but we'll call them sunsetter (one of the options). They have been working their tails off rehearsing for the last 6 months and are just about done recording their first album. This past Friday (02/04/11), they had their first show at the Tiki bar in Costa Mesa, Ca. The show was a huge success and they had so much support from friends and family. Sunsetter has an indescribable sound; an eclectic mix of reggae & rock. Stay tuned for their shows to come!

Infinitely.

"Lord make me an instrument of thy PEACE where there is Hatred, let me sow LOVE where there is Injury, PARDON where there is Error, TRUTH where there is Discord, HARMONY where there is Doubt, FAITH where there is Despair, HOPE where there is Darkness, LIGHT and where there is Sorrow, JOY."

Trains.

Two weekends ago I was able to finally take my little nephew, Kingston, on a miniature train ride at the park I live near. It only runs once a month so it's been difficult to catch. But King enjoyed it very much! It never seizes to amazes me how much happiness is brought to you through making a loved one, especially a child, happy. I can't even begin to imagine how that will feel once I have my own children. I definitely recommend taking the kiddos to wilson park for this free ride if you're in the southbay area.
